One of the challenges of the school holidays, for me, is to balance keeping the kids occupied without sending myself over the edge. One of my favourite ways to do this is a trip to a National Trust site or other stately home.
Today we want to Gibside, which is a Trust site here in the North East. There’s lots of open space for the kids to run around, but also a beautiful walled garden with flower and veg plots which allowed me a few minutes of inspiration.
There was also an exhibition of textile art, pinned to washing lines – lovely to see them fluttering.
